American folk art print celebrates home
Since its appearance in 1990 on the cover of Country Living Magazine, Marie Fox’s Catching Fireflies has become a signature piece. This American folk art print shows children enjoying that special summer evening when fireflies signal their romantic intentions to become irresistible jewels on the wing. Set in front of the historic Ezra Weston house in Marie’s hometown of Duxbury, Massachusetts, this country folk art print portrays a magical, protected childhood.
Over the years, Marie has created commissioned artwork for the White House, Boston’s Mayor Menino, a Hollywood film producer, an Olympic skating champion and many others. Over 65 of her original primitive folk art paintings are prized by collectors around the world. Her art has been shown at U.S. galleries from New England to California.
Whether your style is country home decorating or chic loft minimalism, Marie’s country art prints will fit in with any palette. In addition to her line of museum quality folk art prints, a limited number of her original paintings are on sale through the website.
"Marie Fox’s contemporary folk art tells gentle stories about New England’s simpler past.” Read this USAir Magazine feature article by Hatsy Shields.
Distinctive art for country home decorating
Marie's Americana folk art has been featured twice on the Today Show and on the cover of Country Living magazine. It has been published and sold both here and internationally. In December 1986, Marie presented her commissioned painting of the Lighting of the White House Christmas Tree to President and Mrs. Reagan.
Each American folk art print tells a universal but period story set in 19th century New England. A strong sense of place and legacy make this art the perfect complement to country home decorating. Marie's intimate interiors and farm paintings create a sense of well-being which reminds viewers of their own favorite people, places, and times.
